</section></section>Andrea Michelle Cole was charged with child neglect and resisting arrest when Manatee County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered Cole's 7-week-old infant and 2-year-old boy sitting in a parked car in the driveway of Cole's home Monday as the temperature reached 93 degrees outside with a heat index of 102.
Arrest documents said the infant was "unresponsive" for a time while the older child was crying and showed signs of heat exhaustion.
"Inside the vehicle was loose medication, opened bottles of liquor and used diapers," arrest documents said. Deputies noted that the mother appeared to be "heavily intoxicated and she had no idea that she left her children in the car and could not answer our questions."
Deputies said they were on the scene for at least 15 to 20 minutes before they spotted the children on the same day that Sneed died outside his day care center in Oakland Park, Florida.
